Positive Balance

We have now reached the first break in the season that started on February 15th, playing in the preliminary round of the Asian Champions League against Bangkok Glass. Since then we have played a total of 23 official matches in three competitions. We are still in the Cup, we topped our group in the first phase of the Champions League but were then knocked out at the last moment by the leader of the South Korean league, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, and in the Super League we are joint leaders, along with Evergrande and Shandong.

Up until now, the balance compared to last season is positive. We have improved in the main aspects of the game and we are a competitive team, with the ability to work hard and overcome adversity. Our system has become pivotal and it doesn’t matter who plays on any given game; the team has gained the respect of all our rivals. I always tell my players that they must believe in their potential and fight for each match. This is the path to becoming champions and we cannot make up any excuses to quit. For this reason, our success is a result of each and every player’s self-esteem and their overall trust in all the members of the team.

This team has been built during training sessions; that is where we produce the work that has given these excellent results and, in turn, those results have made us a GREAT team.

Now it’s time to give the players a few days to rest, they have earned it. When we return, we will still have 17 league matches ahead of us, as well as the Cup. Fighting for the two remaining titles will be a fantastic sporting battle, and that is the objective we have set for ourselves. And of course, we will need our wonderful fans to accompany us on this adventure to make our dream of becoming champions come true.
All the best
